Import tariff quotas

The implementation of import tariff quotas is as follows:

  • If the application form is adequate, the Export and Import measures Administration unit continues with the procedure of licence issuing;
  • The Export and Import measures Administration unit notifies the European Commission on quantities in application forms of beneficiaries according to individual market organisations;
  • European Commission has a possibility to approve the application form, reject it entirely or with a reduced percentage item;
  • European Commission pursuant to the data gathered decides on the amount of the reduction factor;
  • Export and Import measures Administration unit notifies a beneficiary in writing on the determined reduction factor by the European Commission;
  • On the basis of the notification on the amount of the reduction factor the applicant decides whether to withdraw the application form (if it is possible according to European Commission regulations) and demands the application to be withdrawn or continues the procedure on the issue of licence;
  • If the applicant withdraws the application, the security lodged is immediately released or in case of reducing of the application form for a percentage item where only a part of the security lodged is due, a part of the security lodged is immediately released;
  • If the applicant does not withdraw the contract, the Export and Import measures Administration unit issues the licence.
