Beekeeping sector support

Applications under the measures of the Lithuanian Beekeeping Sector Support Programme 2017–2019 were collected during the period from 19 December 2017 till 21 January 2018. A total of almost five hundred fifty beneficiaries were approved; the majority of them were approved support under the measures “Renewal of bee families” (supporting acquisition of beehives, reinstatement and expansion of apiaries) and “Improving the quality of apiculture products in order to increase their market value” (supporting acquisition of inventory). Beekeepers having submitted their applications on time received support.
  • Measure “Renewal of bee families” – 250 beneficiaries.
  • Measure “Improving the quality of apiculture products in order to increase their market value” – 239 beneficiaries.
  • Measure “Rationalisation of transportation of beehives to pastures” – 49 beneficiaries.
  • Measure “Control of varroasis” – 46 beneficiaries.
  • Measure “Technical assistance for beekeepers and their groups” – 2 beneficiaries.
Beekeepers having submitted their applications on time received support. EUR 144 000 was paid under the measure “Improving the quality of apiculture products in order to increase their market value”, EUR 103 000 – under the measure “Control of varroasis” and EUR 91 000 – under the measure “Renewal of bee families” and another EUR 96 000 were paid according to the other three measures.
 
Beekeepers are also disbursed national support, the funds whereof are used to partially cover expenses directly related to supplementary feeding of bees (costs of purchase of conventional, organic sugar or invert sugar syrup).
 
National support for supplementary feeding of bees: 6 733 beekeepers received EUR 638 000 support.
