NIVA Implementation – Achievements and Challenges....

The second meeting of the consortium partners of the H2020 NIVA project (New IACS Vision in Action) and the 1st Stakeholder Forum “Implementation of Checks-by-Monitoring“ took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 11-13 November 2019. A two-day NIVA project partner meeting was dedicated to NIVA progress, overview of implementation of project work packages (WP) and use case state of play (11-12 November). The subsequent event, the Stakeholder Forum, was aimed at the identified target groups, striving to involve in the project implementation and assessment process as many different stakeholders as possible (13 November). Both events were hosted by the Danish Agricultural Agency.

National Paying Agency celebrates its 20th anniversary

The European Union (EU) and the state budget support has been helping the Lithuanian economy to grow for years. We are proud that the National Paying Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture (NPA), in charge of administering the  EU and national support for agriculture, rural development and fisheries, contributes to the creation of modern farms, prosperous businesses and beautifying villages in the country. In November 2019 the NPA celebrates its 20th anniversary.

The Monitoring Comittee has recently approved the implementation report of the Lithuanian Rural Development Programme 2014 – 2020  (Programme) for the period 2014 – 2018. A total of 2 billion euros were earmarked for the Programme implemention for Lithuania. More than a half of the sum – 1,2 billion euros were approved for the period 2014 – 2018. During this period 995,33 million euros of support were paid under the Programme and 945, 5 million euros of support were declared to the European Commission.

On 17-19 June 2019, the kick off meeting of NIVA (New IACS Vision In Action) project, funded by the Horizon 2020 (H2020) and coordinated by the University of Wageningen from Netherlands, took place in the Hague (Netherlands) with the presence of all the partners and also with members of several Directorates General of the European Commission (EC), including DG AGRI, DG CNECT, DG DIGIT, DG CLIMA and JRC. The National Paying Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture in Lithuania is among the partners of the project consortium, formed by 9 Member States and represented by the paying agencies, ministries, private companies and research institutes: Lithuania, Italy, Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Greece and Estonia.
